Meet Tess,

An empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental support worker with the Vis-Ability Support Services team who is committed to building trust and fostering authenticity in every interaction.  Tess believes in meeting people where they are, creating an environment in which they feel genuinely heard, respected and understood. Tess is in her final year of Clinical Psychology. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced, a Bachelor of Psychology, and specialist training in evidence-based psychological therapies, mental health first aid and literacy intervention. In addition to her tertiary education Tess has worked as worked as a Provisional Psychologist and Learning Support Officer across mental health, community and educational settings, including Headspace and the Parent-Child Research Clinic. With many years’ experience Tess brings a strong passion for mental health and specialised skills in supporting neurodivergent people.

Tess’s hobbies include:

  • Rock climbing, swimming, the beach and going for walks on the coastline (so pretty much anything outdoors!)
  • Drinking coffee
  • Cooking
  • Live music
  • Making art
  • Spending time with family, friends, and four very spoiled pets

Tess enjoys support work as it allows her to make a genuine difference by walking alongside people as they work toward their goals and finding meaning in every step, big or small. Tess believes it is a privilege to build trust, share in moments of joy and challenge and help nurture each person’s unique strengths whilst working collaboratively with them to achieve what is important to them.
